A Practice of Arrival is a mindful improvisational movement score — a multi-layered meditative conversation between sound, presence, and movement. Ambient textures, birdsongs and field recordings from around the world intertwine with original recordings of Zen monk, environment and peace activist Thích Nhất Hạnh, creating a shifting soundscape for Lena Klink’s improvised movement. A gentle exploration of arrival: into the body, into the present moment, and into this world — where one arrival is already unfolding within another. This performance is for humans, plants, and all our more-than-human kin. A small gesture towards remembering that we are not separate from the Earth, but of it – and that we are always making a world together. If you’re bringing a plant friend along for this little date night, you’re warmly invited to place them somewhere around the stage or dance floor, so they can have a great view and become part of the shared space.
