Well, actaully we wanted to come back from our summer break with someone really special -but in the end, it turned out to be… „Jus-Ed“ ;) So, now that this unbelievably brilliant piece of wordplay has had a moment to sink in, we can finally tell you how genuinely happy we are to have Jus-Ed with us for the next District – connecting arts. show - and yes, we’re also a little proud that we managed to lure him to Cologne. Jus-Ed has been playing records since he was ten years old and professionally since 1981. Coming from Bridgeport, Connecticut, his journey has taken him to dancefloors all over the world — from the US to Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. For us, what makes Jus-Ed special is not just the history behind his name. It’s the way he plays. His sets can move from House to Techno, from deep and soulful to raw and driving, but they always feel personal. There is experience in there, of course, but also curiosity, energy and a real connection to the people in the room. In 2004, he founded Underground Quality, a label that has become an important part of underground House culture and a home for artists who follow their own path. Over the years, Jus-Ed has released countless records, albums and remixes, while also helping to create a community around the music. His path has taken him to clubs such as OUTPUT Brooklyn, Djoon Paris, Tresor / Globus, Panorama Bar and Club Tape in Berlin, where he is now based. But more than any list of clubs, releases or years, what matters to us is the attitude behind it all: doing your own thing, staying independent, staying curious and taking the music seriously without taking yourself too seriously. That is something we can relate to very much. So we’re really looking forward to welcoming Jus-Ed to Cologne and having him in our show.
