FUSION — Detroit Music Culture in Motion Culture does not survive by accident. It survives because each generation chooses to carry it forward. Latona Expansion Group LLC and Future Visions present FUSION, a Detroit cultural series created to connect the artists who established the foundations of techno, house and Detroit electronic music with the musicians, DJs, producers and selectors shaping what comes next. Detroit did more than create influential records. The city established musical languages, independent movements and cultural frameworks that transformed electronic music worldwide. FUSION is built around the belief that this legacy should remain active—not preserved at a distance, but experienced, exchanged and expanded through the people continuing the work today. Presented by Latona Expansion Group LLC, a Detroit-based artist management, international booking, public relations and cultural preservation company, alongside Future Visions, the Detroit electronic music label founded by Jeferson Ciarvi, FUSION brings cultural preservation directly onto the dancefloor. Human Robot / Jeferson Ciarvi At the center of the series is FUSION resident Human Robot, aka Jeferson Ciarvi. Originally from Brazil and now based in Detroit, Ciarvi is a DJ, producer, curator and founder of Future Visions. His work reflects an international relationship with Detroit electronic music while remaining directly engaged with the city and the community carrying its culture forward. As both an artist and curator, Human Robot treats Detroit techno and house not simply as historical achievements, but as living musical languages. Through Future Visions and his work behind the decks, he connects established Detroit traditions with contemporary electronic music, international influences and new generations of artists. That role makes Human Robot a natural resident for FUSION: an artist positioned between cultures, generations and musical perspectives, helping create a meeting point between Detroit’s foundations and its future. September 4 — Human Robot welcomes DJ Roger Th@t For the September 4 edition, Human Robot welcomes Detroit-born musician, dancer and DJ Emily Rogers, performing as DJ Roger Th@t. Born and raised in Detroit, Rogers carries the city’s unmistakable combination of soul, rhythm, funk and raw musical ingenuity. With more than a decade of performance experience, she approaches the decks as both a selector and storyteller. Her relationship with music began long before DJing. From making mixtapes and sharing music as a child to developing an extensive musical library informed by funk and a wide range of influences, DJ Roger Th@t is the natural evolution of Rogers’ life as a musician and performer. Her sets move fluidly across genres, connecting unexpected selections, deep cuts and timeless grooves. Rather than simply moving from track to track, she reads the room and builds an experience, allowing each set to develop as its own musical journey. Together, Human Robot and DJ Roger Th@t represent exactly what FUSION was created to encourage: artists bringing their own histories, influences and perspectives into conversation with Detroit’s extraordinary musical foundation. FUSION is not about recreating the past. It is about making sure the knowledge, experimentation, independence and cultural responsibility that built Detroit music continue moving forward.
