Another year has flowed down the Danube, and quite a bit of water has passed through Dip’n’Dive too. We’re turning 7. Seven years, ten releases, a fair few dancefloors and more sunrises than we can count. Along the way, there have been plenty of people, places and sounds that shaped what we now call Dip’n’Dive. So for our birthday, we’re inviting some of the people whose work we’ve been looking up to for a long time. We’ve been trying to get Máté to join us for ages, but somehow the stars never quite aligned. Tolo has been a defining figure of Budapest’s underground house scene and the world around LavaLava for years. There’s a depth, playfulness and freedom in his selections that resonates a lot with what got us into this in the first place. Finally, we get to welcome him into our little circle. Our other maestro hardly needs an introduction. Captain Knuckles has been part of Budapest nightlife for decades, from collecting records and illegal parties to becoming one of the defining residents of Aether and RAW. Few people around here have spent this many years on dancefloors while keeping such an instinctive sense for groove. We’re very happy to have him behind the decks for this one. As morning rolls in, the TreeHouse crew takes over with Moma and lakidani going b2b. We’ve been loving what’s been growing around their crew lately, so we’re more than happy to leave the sunrise in their hands. Before and in between, our residents Minoclue and Toro Lomo keep the story moving. And since Dip’n’Dive has never only been about what comes out of the speakers, we’re digging through the visual cupboard again together with Viso Reacto. A few tubes, some smoke and some light to make ATNO’s dancefloor feel slightly elsewhere until morning. 7 years of Dip’n’Dive.
