OFFICINE is coming from France — OFFICINE is a three‑piece band formed in Paris in 2018. The lineup features Marion Camy‑Palou, crucifying her guitar to lead the charge with body and voice (Deeat Palace, Nacre); Christophe Provinçial , convulsing through his bass; and Kozo Komori, galloping across his drums with matte strikes, zen precision, and rolling bursts that verge on the groovy. To date, they have released two albums: “Dieu” and “2E”. After performing widely across Europe’s underground music circuits, they now conclude their Japan tour at Shin‑Okubo Earthdom, a frontline outpost of Tokyo’s extreme‑music culture. On this night, OFFICINE shares the stage with Incapacitants, the living legends of Japanese noise whom they deeply admire, and 2UP — the duo of Tetsunori Tawaraya, a prodigious painter and rock’n’roller who has moved through countless hubs of independent culture across Japan and abroad, and drummer Keiichi Nakano. The evening opens with the first‑ever session between Atsuhiro Ito, fluorescent‑lamp performer, and Chihei Hatakeyama, ambient/drone artist. Both began performing in Tokyo in the early 2000s in settings far removed from conventional live houses and clubs, each carving out a distinct path. DJs in the bar area will include Sarah and Sacha from the France-Italy-Japan-based label “All Horned Animals“, Rio Kodaira who is a vocalist of Tokyo based indie-pop band “Homie Homicide“, and “Machimachi Ourai (aka a vocalist of the band Kuro Pipe)” which is a project that organizes events in Chiba and Tokyo. “Officine is Teenage Jesus and the Jerks and DNA in the blind spot of punk — a form of Electric Body Music where fury transforms into elegance. It is noise‑inflected art‑rock pushed to its most extreme limits, firmly rooted in the contemporary moment, and emancipated from social and emotional alienation.” — Julian Becourt (Critic) A sound that violently oscillates between dispersion and convergence and a heat — that seems to resist the stagnation settling over the world, as social systems everywhere grow increasingly spectral. Join us and be part of the source of this heat. Masaharu Kuramochi (Machimachi Ourai / Kuro Pipe)
