JiāLa 2 Year Anniversary

What started as a spontaneous idea has, two years later, grown into something we keep building together with every artist who played, everyone who danced, helped out, brought a friend, or stayed until the lights came on. 𝐉𝐢ā𝐋𝐚 加辣 (“𝐚𝐝𝐝 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞”) 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧-𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜, 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬, 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬. Rooted in queer and transnational perspectives, since 2024 we’ve hosted events at OHM, Giri, Arkaoda and Kwia, including the Asian Queers Reunited (AQR) party series, always with friends old and new. For our second anniversary, we’re coming back to OHM for another curated night with the community: a performance by Jiannyuh, who brings together calligraphy, body and sound; a live set by Mei Yuxin (Temple Rat) & Linchi; and our DJ friends carrying it through until the morning. Two years in, and we’re still adding spice. See you on the floor.
