To listen to Igarashi’s music is to be submerged in a rich and captivating sonic world, and his releases have found a home on many of the best labels of our time. Igarashi pays homage to a storied legacy of heady, cerebral Japanese techno, but his work nonetheless stands apart. Last year he released “My Supernova,” his first long player for Dekmantel, and the album is a tour de force of pure flow state techno, marked by a confidently wild-eyed power. Intense? Active for two decades and counting, the Birmingham-born, London-based artist is a force in UK house. On his own One Records and Sub Series, Subb-an has released some of the choicest cuts in the modern landscape. His commitment to atmospheric, rolling house is unmistakable; his productions blend dreamy atmospherics with a rugged propulsion that sits perfectly in the mix. Meilgaarden completes the lineup.
