Delta Funktionen, the alias of Niels Luinenburg, is a master of the dance floor, seamlessly blending techno, house and electro with exceptional technical skill and a knack for storytelling through his sets. This unique combination has established him as a global reference in electronic music. With three albums, numerous EPs, and critically acclaimed remixes to his name, Delta Funktionen boasts a career that has seen him hold long term residencies at iconic venues like Tresor (Berlin) and Trouw (Amsterdam), while performing at the pinnacle of club culture across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. His sets are cinematic journeys - intense, unpredictable, and brimming with energy. Music has been the driving force in Niels’ life. Before his DJ career took off, he spent several years working at Deeptrax, a second-hand vinyl store in the north of the Netherlands. Surrounded by extensive collections of Detroit and Berlin techno, Chicago and New York house, and British electronica, he honed his musical knowledge and passion. Following his debut releases on Delsin, Niels began touring as a DJ, frequently headlining club events or performing as a support act for techno luminaries such as Jeff Mills, Speedy J, Regis, Surgeon, Moritz von Oswald, and Nina Kraviz, among others. In 2020, Niels relocated from Berlin to his hometown to establish and manage the Deepgrooves Vinyl Pressing Plant. After several years, that chapter concluded, and in 2024, he returned to releasing music and touring. His comeback began with a performance at the legendary Labyrinth festival in Japan, followed by a back-to-back set with his partner Napirelly. Together, they run the Immediate Proximity (IMPROX) project, which focuses on sci-fi-inspired bass music and embraces a free-spirited, boundary- defying approach to creativity. In 2025, Delta Funktionen resumed releasing music on his own Radio Matrix label. These new works stay true to his signature style while adopting a fresh, modern approach to production. The music is techno at its core—direct, powerful, and adventurous, with a depth that resonates. For his DJ sets, Niels has incorporated specialized outboard effects gear, further enhancing the cinematic quality of his performances. Napirelly is a resident of Roots United and a co-founder of the Immediate Proximity duo and IMPROX label, with five releases published to date. Over 16 years, her path has developed through local initiatives, broadcasts on one of Russia’s largest radio stations, international performances, vinyl production in the Netherlands and independent music releases. Her DJ style is defined by bold and dynamic shifts between tempos and genres.
