There’s nothing quite like dancing in a basement all night long, is there? Succulent Funk is returning once more to Collingwood Basement, and invite you to join us for an evening of smoke, sweat and soul. Providing the musical musings for the evening, we welcome Simon Caldwell down from Eora/Sydney. A true inspiration, Simon has been behind the decks since the early 1990’s, leaving a trail of fevered dance floors in his wake. Simon is a resident/co-promoter of Mad Racket, a party institution of the Sydney scene, and hosts Sunset on Mondays on FBI Radio. Prepare for no sound to be untouched; no stone unturned; Simon consistently defies any and all attempts to box in his sound. Just the way we like it. To kick things off and set the tone, we hand the keys to the club over to Sammy Sanchez. Known for her penchant for downtempo grooves, we’ve invited Sammy to unleash those late night club tracks we know she’s been keeping tucked away… Truly a party favourite, Sammy has played across many Naarm institutions including Spasta, Revolver Upstairs & Angel Music Bar, to name a few. Plus resident Jasper Miles providing the Succulent Funk vibes you know and love. To quote Etta James “Where can you party, child, all night long? In the basement. Down in the basement”. See you December 5th, tickets on sale via Resident Advisor now. This event is being held on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nations. Always was, always will be.
