Feeding ducks at ormside - back from the summer holidays, the next Diversion excursion returns to Ormside Projects to bring you three artists we’re excited to host for the first time. RS Tangent is a long time contributor to the bubbling and fertile sludge of the Bristol underground with involvement in NoCorner from very early on and releases on Timedance and AD93 as the defunct Giant Swan project. His signature boiled-down, bad-trip techno throb has had a few outings on The Trilogy Tapes and he’s looking forward to releasing a scorching album somewhere soon. Robin’s dedicated punk experimentalism reaches through his productions into his DJ sets, whether he’s playing dub on his Noods show, blasting dancefloors EU side or running The Probe, his own Bristol-based series of techno focused outings. This will be AM resident marjai’s first time playing at Ormside and we couldn’t be more excited. marjai’s ear for tunes and their meticulous approach to mixing always promises a deeply thoughtful experience. Tasting notes; very lethal, yet flexible and dynamic. Perfect closing set material. They are also a competitive ballroom and latin dancer and just recently did an NTS show with buttechno! What else is there to say!? Situated in London but hailing from Glasgow, multidisciplinary artist and NTS host Katie Shannon has been on our radar for a while. Playing around our favourite clubs in South East as well as some incredible looking lineups in Glasgow (the last ever So Low!!!!). Have caught her playing some of our favourite scary + sexy opening sets in recent memory where she’s usually swinging a non genre-specific sound which can range from a lonely waltz to ceiling slapping noise. Embedded in fashion and visual art projects and also booking insanely good shows at Cafe Oto as ‘rebi’, Katie is a multi talented artist that we’re extremely excited to have opening the show. Expect some terrifying fun on the best sounding rig in South East London!
