Every year, Origin of Animal builds a Centennial concert around the 100th birthdays of some of our greatest musical influences. We’ve paid homage to Charles Mingus, Thad Jones, Henry Mancini and more. For year five, we’re bringing together Miles Davis, John Coltrane and George Martin—and this one goes straight to the heart of why OOA exists. Miles’s Bitches Brew was a driving inspiration behind OOA coming together in the first place: jazz, rock, groove, and a healthy disregard for where one is supposed to stop and the next begin. This isn’t just music we admire—it’s music that helped make this band happen. Celebrating these three in one evening makes this Centennial particularly personal.
