Balearic to House. Every second Saturday in Shibuya. PRIMARY is a monthly gathering at DJ BAR KOARA, an intimate venue just a short walk from Yoyogi Park. Beginning in the late afternoon, resident DJs DJ KIYAMA, KAZU, and Issyo guide the music from Balearic sounds into house, letting the atmosphere evolve naturally as the evening unfolds. For September, we welcome two guests whose approaches extend beyond the usual boundaries of the dancefloor: Shiojiri Kisei and sinkHole Man. Shiojiri Kisei works entirely with vinyl, improvisationally weaving together the energies of different places and moments — physical vibrations, surging emotions, the shimmer of the sea, whispers of the forest and the strange energy of the night. His appearances include FFKT and the outdoor ambient festival Off-Tone, alongside sound production for museum installations. He is also part of Rawmen Records, the late-night record store in Sangenjaya, Tokyo. Born in Amagasaki, Hyogo, sinkHole Man began with field recordings and DTM, capturing sounds from the streets while still a student before moving into live performance and DJing. Through everyday sounds and a wide range of sampled material, his DJ sets and productions transform familiar surroundings into something with an entirely different texture. Alongside the music, koririkiwa presents an exhibition, adding a visual dimension to the afternoon. Different sounds, different backgrounds, one intimate room.
