Over Steeped is an intimate, sensory gathering that uses the ritual of tea as a starting point for exploring sound, connection, care, and collective presence. Through a shared tea ceremony, ambient music, poetry, participants are invited to slow down, tune into the subtle moments of pouring, steeping, tasting, and listening, and consider how seemingly ordinary rituals can create space for meaningful encounters. Like tea leaves releasing their flavor over time, relationships and ideas unfold through patience, attention, and exchange. Over Steeped offers a moment to step outside the pace of everyday life, gather around a shared table, and steep in the possibilities of being together. Inspired by the work of Robin Wall Kimmerer and sound researchers such as Pauline Oliveros, Brandon LaBelle, and the Sono-(soro)ridades Collective as well as the Listening Academy. The event is open to all who are curious, no prior knowledge or experience of attending a listening session is necessary. Come as you are.
