**This November, Grow Live joins the EFG London Jazz Festival with two live bands and a late-night DJ session moving across different corners of contemporary jazz.** **Vicente Magalhães Octet** **Lisbon-born pianist, composer and arranger Vicente Magalhães brings his new octet to Grow. Classically trained at the Lisbon Conservatoire before moving into jazz and improvised music, his writing draws on both traditions alongside his Portuguese roots. Since moving into the UK scene, he has performed with Norma Winstone, Elaine Delmar and Dave Green, and worked more widely with Nile Rodgers, Kaiser Chiefs and Embrace. His octet takes inspiration from Duke Ellington’s approach to writing for individual musicians, balancing detailed arrangements with space for improvisation.** **Diggory Wood Trio** **London-based drummer and percussionist Diggory Wood is joined by pianist and composer Sam Johnson and double bassist Georgia Johnson. Together, the trio centres on close listening, interplay and improvisation, leaving plenty of room for the unexpected.** **LAANI** **Closing until 2am, London DJ, broadcaster and programmer LAANI moves through nu-jazz, neo-soul, Afro rhythms, broken beat and house. She is Event Producer at Jazz re:freshed, founder of FULLJOY MUSIC and hosts a monthly We Out Here Festival show on Worldwide FM.** **Limited £5/£7 advance tickets via DICE before 10pm** **Free before 9pm** **£10 on the door after 9pm** **Last entry 1am**
