Berlin duo Modeselektor have been shaping the electronic music scene since the early 2000s with their genre-melding productions and flamboyant live performances. New album MDSKLTKR quite literally returns the duo to their foundations, digging into nearly three decades of studio sessions and unfinished ideas, renewing and repurposing them into new beginnings. The album was built through reduction, arrangements pared down to clearer structures where their propulsive power shines brighter than ever. Wildly diverse, infused with exuberance and inspired by a slap of the absurd, Modeselektor’s inarguable grooves seem to emanate from every conceivable musical genre, creating a controlled chaos whose sonic expression elevates the eyebrows of critics and the heartbeats of dance floors around the world. ‘Boundary breaking’ is not just a phrase for Modeselektor but their core essence. 14+ show. Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
