On Friday, October 9, Chicago house and techno legend Mystic Bill steps into CARGO at Dead Letter No. 9. Originally from Miami, Bill landed in Chicago in 1988 and quickly became part of the city’s second wave of house and techno producers, holding residencies at institutions including Shelter, Crobar, and Smartbar. His productions for Trax Records and releases under aliases like Sundowners, Billy Nightmare, and Savage Hymn have made him a lasting influence on generations of artists and dancers. Behind the decks, Mystic Bill moves freely between Chicago acid, Detroit techno, deep house, industrial textures, and unexpected Italo disco gems. Decades of digging, producing, and commanding dance floors around the world come together in sets that are deep, strange, playful, and built for the club. Catch his set in CARGO 1:30AM-3:30AM. Joining him is DJ, producer and edit master Prince Language. Born and raised in Chicago and now deeply embedded in NYC nightlife, his encyclopedic musical knowledge stretches across house, disco, hip-hop, soul, jazz, reggae, and the global musical diaspora. With acclaimed remixes for LCD Soundsystem, MGMT, The Rapture, Azari & III, and Armand Van Helden, his selections connect the underground dance traditions of Chicago and New York. He's on in CARGO 11:30PM-1:30AM. Rounding out the Chicago takeover in CARGO is Gianna Guerino, opening the room with soulful wax and deep analog cuts (10PM-11:30PM). A true digger behind the decks, she’ll set the tone for the night with selections full of warmth, grit, and groove. Over in the Foyer, the music kicks off at 8PM with Cadence Radio, featuring Neskin, Elkin, and RYÔ b2b Hugh Zhang. At midnight, Morgan Wiley takes the reins through close. A longtime fixture of New York’s dance-music world, Wiley is a producer, multi-instrumentalist, and member of Midnight Magic, with credits spanning LCD Soundsystem, Hercules & Love Affair, Soul Clap, Shit Robot, and U.S. Girls.
