*Heavy Debt* is the debut solo album from Shane Butler, best known for work with his projects Olden Yolk and Quilt. Marking his first release since Olden Yolk’s 2019 album Living Theatre, the album refines the art-leaning folk of Butler’s past projects into a sharp, singular vision. While retaining many of the neo-psychedelic qualities of Butler's past work, Heavy Debt occupies a more grounded terrain—establishing a firm sonic and lyrical footing in a candid world entirely his own. Recorded in New York during the winter of 2025 alongside producer and multi instrumentalist Jon Nellen, the album pairs rapidly picked guitars and effected woodwinds (played by Isaiah Barr of experimental jazz troupe Onyx Collective) with rich, varied percussion. These calibrated arrangements anchor Butler’s playful lyrics, weaving semi-autobiographical stories about the vagaries of modern life with a plainspoken clarity and a dreamlike fiction. Silk Fence is a New York–based instrumental electro-acoustic trio between three longtime friends and collaborators—Arian Shafiee (Guerilla Toss, etc.) on electric guitar, Booker Stardrum (SML, etc.) on drums and percussion, and Justin Frye (PC Worship, etc.) on double bass and tapes. The group stretches the sonic possibilities of their instruments while exploring long-form, texture-driven minimalism and time-based improvisation. \- Make a reservation before your show: http://bit.ly/4loDjTg.
