Planetarium is an event for listening deeply. We ask everyone who attends to remain silent in the listening area and to step outside the space for any conversations. We also ask that there is no phone use in the entire space. If that sounds good to you, read on... - - - - - - Planetarium makes a rare late summer/early autumn emergence to welcome our friend and inspiration, Chee Shimizu. He will play all night long. Chee has been sharing records in intentional listening spaces for decades, long before the dawn of the new hi-fi and listening bar trends on our shores. His approach is masterful. Patient and studied but never rigid. Lying in the room while Chee is playing records is like lying under an oak tree with a massive canopy being ever so slightly moved by the wind. - - - - For this edition of Planetarium, to keep prices more manageable for you and us, we're skipping catered dinner. You're welcome to BYO food and drink. We'll open doors at 7pm, and we'll turn the lights down at 8pm. Chee will play until midnight. The system in the loft is still sounding amazing. Amps and a sub from EM/IA, five Klipschorns. Bring blankets, sleeping bags, pillows, an eye mask and anything else you need to get comfortable and go deep. We do a small amount of reservations so that there's room to lie down. Because we do Planetarium at a private space, we only send the location info to people who reserve space in advance. We'll send out the location from ask@mistersaturdaynight.com on the morning of the session. Make sure to safe list that email address so you receive the notification. Also, before you make your reservation, be sure to check that the email address you have on file with RA is one that you can actually access. If you have not received this email by noon on Saturday, September 19, but have reserved a spot, search your spam, junk, promotions and other folders for an email from ask@mistersaturdaynight.com. The subject is always something like: "Please Read: All The Info For Planetarium". So you know how to plan, we can tell you it's not too far from Nowadays, less than five minutes from the Halsey L. If reservations are unavailable, activate the notification function on this page, and you'll get an email if space becomes available. The resale system opens after all dates in a weekend are sold out and stays active until noon on the day before the event. After that, all reservations have to be final so that we can ensure that everyone who reserves space gets the address. We're looking forward to getting lost in sound with you. Until then...
