The evening opens with a vinyl listening session and a full vinyl playback of the album, followed by an intimate conversation between halima and Oli - unpacking how the world of SWEET TOOTH carried into onyx, a peek into the new era halima is building next, and a closing Q&A. Brooklyn-based with roots in the UK and Nigeria, Halima produces bright, lush worlds where club bangers meet deep ballads in a striking, fully-formed hybrid of honeyed Afro-pop and scorched R&B. Last year, she dropped her debut album SWEET TOOTH, which captures the ecstatic journey of a long night out. When she’s not in the studio recording new tracks, Halima is running the party series Club Cocoa in NYC, centering queer POC and the African diasporic community.
