Hybrid Identity: sapphic autumn

2026-10-09
23:00:00 - 10:00:00

Your invitation to meditate through sound, movement, and experience on what sapphic communion on the dance floor could look and feel like is here! Outside of the conventional meaning of this word it is about all relationships that don't neatly fit into existing norms. It is defined by elusive intimacy, a familiar concept that can exist in night life gatherings, or so we hope. Autumn gives these bonds a pensive, brooding sense of time. It asks what changes, disappears or remains. We are leaning into a sapphic mood deeply this time, but let us not forget to mention: everyone is welcome! Respect to all that are involved to make and maintain our events is something that we take very seriously! Come prepared to contribute moods and looks, it is a collective effort! ❧ Increasingly recognised for her unapologetic and occasionally unsettling “transsexual acid sound”, Scotia is a beloved DJ and producer in the American rave community. Hailing from Upstate New York, Scotia’s musical work shows signs of her lifelong music fandom reaching well back to the 90s, where she grew up with DIY punk, hip-hop, and rave music. On a tear for 2026 with performances in Los Angeles, The Bay Area, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Portland (both Oregon and Maine!), Scotia stacked up memorable sets at legendary Detroit festival Movement’s Club Toilet (selected as a Resident Advisor Mix of the Day) and a frenetic B2B with Lauren Flax at Return to the Source. In June, she graced NYC Pride at The Carry Nation and Wrecked’s beloved Get Wrecked and Carry function at Knockdown Center, delighted at cult favorite Spaghetti Strap, and closed out Good Room. ❧ DJ, producer and electronics artist Antenes operates a laboratory of self-made sequencers and modular synthesizers built in the name of rhythmic, sonic, and spatial exploration. A Brooklyn resident by way of Chicago, Antenes' eclectic DJ sets dive into acid-laced techno, shimmering electro, shadowy atmospheres and beyond. ❧ Emsho is an Iranian DJ and producer based in Brooklyn. Born and raised in Iran, she first found her footing in the underground before moving to New York, where a passion in vinyl drew her deeper into Brooklyn’s vibrant dance music landscape. Her journey later took her to Berlin, where she spent several years refining her craft, expanding her collection, and developing her sound on both sides of the turntables. Emsho’s sound moves fluidly across styles and rhythms, drawing from Latin and UK influences alongside the percussion of Persian and Arabic music. Her production has been featured by DJ Mag, and she has released music on Domesticated and Apranik Records. ❧ With 30+ years of djing in numerous countries, ron like hell has no intention of stopping anytime soon. They produce queer centered events in NYC both solo and as part of the dj duo Wrecked. Along with 26 years of record store experience, their knowledge of music is extensive which contributes to ron’s technique in the mix. They are an eclectic dj that reads the room presenting the best music for the moment, a storyteller communicating with techno, disco and house music among other genres too. The success of their undeniable craft and sincere approach to dj’ing has increased their recognition and respect from some of the world's best parties, music makers and venues. ❧ threehz is the alias of an elusive NY-based DJ, musician and artist whose work spans three decades of unbounded sonic experimentation with a sprawling discography that ranges from carefully sculpted noise to blissful downtempo. Drawing on their years of sonic exploration, threehz channels their full range into expansive DJ sets. While operating under the umbrella of techno, threehz embodies an ethos of exploration over strict genre limitations. A fixture in NY’s fertile electronic underground, they are the primary engine behind the dream/self parties and one of the organizers of the Hybrid Identity series - both of which mirror the mission behind their solo practice. From their earliest forays until today, threehz’s work has consistently shown a commitment to liberation through total sonic immersion. ❧ Constructible is the techno-oriented alias of Texas-raised, Queens-based artist Mac McCormick. Cultivation of organic and deep sounds forms the basis of Constructible’s sonic identity. Their sets often range from minimal grooves and textural ambient tones to air-thickening psychedelia. As a producer, their tracks mirror their work as a mathematician, exercising the concepts of geometry and topology to inform their voice. Their releases act as cogitations in sculpting sonic spaces through geometric principles: manipulating the actions, invariance, and transformations of sound. ❧ ** Address will be sent to ticket holders before 6pm on Friday October 9th. ** Hybrid Identity is a queer-centered collective, exploring spaces between anything hybrid. This is a shared space—respect and consent come first. Harassment of any kind won’t be tolerated. If something feels off, please find a staff member. Keep the dance floor conversation and phone free, we set up cozy hangout areas just for that. Hybrid Identity is mayilovesummer, threehz and aj_xo.
