Diego Gaeta has curated a night of performance and listening to celebrate the debut screening of the film “The Less We Planned” by Andrew Gura. The film portrays a few days in the life of Diego, documenting chance operations and improvisational filmmaking to illustrate the subject’s true nature and relationships with loving care and musicality. Following the film, V and Diego will perform their songs live together. Diego Gaeta is a keyboardist and producer born and raised in Los Angeles whose work connects the sonic future and past by developing new sounds while rooted in folk music spirits of improvisation. Eyvind Kang (viola d’amore) and Jessika Kenney (voice) are a longstanding duo whose collaborations include the trio of spiritually-charged albums “Aestuarium”, “face of the earth”, and “Azure”, on Ideologic Organ, as well as works for radio, orchestra, choir, gamelan, and music for writers Will Alexander, Anne Carson, and Red Pine. Carlos Niño will be treating us to DJ selections to begin the sound tasting of the night at 8. Beyond his deep DJ career, Carlos is a prolific album producer, percussionist, experimental composer, connector and communicator known primarily for his main project Carlos Niño & Friends, and for his extensive work with Andre 3000, Saul Williams and many many more that you may discover (including tonight’s curator Diego Gaeta).
