Peter Van Hoesen, a resident of The Labyrinth—widely regarded as one of Japan’s most legendary underground techno festivals—returns to Japan once again this year, appearing on WOMB’s 2F on October 16 following his performance last year. Originally from Antwerp, Belgium, Peter spent many years in Berlin before relocating to Vietnam, where he is now based. As a producer, he needs little introduction, with an extensive catalogue of high-quality releases defined by uncompromising, meticulously crafted production. Through his own label, Time To Express, he has continued to develop a singular and consistent musical vision. In recent years, alongside his solo live sets, he has explored new territory through collaborations, including improvised live performances as SYNC., his project with ATOM TM. Joining him on 2F are So, resident DJ of The Labyrinth, and DJ Kuri, a longtime figure in the scene whose activities have continued to expand in recent years, earning acclaim across a wide range of dancefloors. Together with Peter Van Hoesen, they shape the sound of the floor throughout the night. On 1F, the lineup features Chilean-born, Barcelona-based John Plaza, an emerging Deep Techno producer and DJ known for his uncompromising sound; a live set from New Zealand’s OPML (Olympic Pool Maintenance League), who continues to release a stream of distinctive productions; Løst, founder of Flight and one of the rising names shaping the next generation of Japan’s scene; and Remi Ohsugi, who recently launched his own label KAGRA while continuing to expand his activities as a DJ. The 4F takes a more minimal direction. From Amsterdam comes Delta Funktionen, a pioneering figure in the scene who also appeared at The Labyrinth two years ago. He is joined by Full Sentimental, resident of FVTVR, one of Paris’s leading clubs; Yo Nishijima, who has steadily refined his craft within Tokyo’s scene; and rising artist nico, whose disciplined and distinctive sensibility marks him as a name to watch. For this edition, DDD brings together artists from scenes around the world, selected through its own distinctive perspective.
