Scott Grundy, Heaven For Real has taken on many forms by twisting the raw genre materials of pop and rock into perplexingly poetic configurations. Their 2025 LP “Who Died & Made You The Dream?” (Mint Records) has been described as “a surrealist approach to indie rock" and "gleefully strange". From the isolated cornfields of northern Ontario, to the sweaty dive bars of Toronto, Violence on film exists in two worlds. The country kids who moved to the city, back to the country and returned once more to the provincial capital to bring their blend of twangy bedroom pop to life. The three piece with members from Toronto post punk and shoegaze bands Sham Family, Mount Mural and Sunnsetter have put aside the distortion for a more grounded, nostalgic approach to their music. Drum machines and synths exist beside banjos and acoustic guitars to tell the story of a life split between quiet country charm and chaotic city living. \-- Multi-dimensional music festival Project Nowhere returns for a fourth year to electrify Toronto’s west end OCT 1-3, 2026.
