Sattvic Sessions #1

14:00:00 - 17:00:00
Atemporal, Berlin

An Evening of Conscious Listening and Tasting Hosted by Phil Richarde The ancient Indian traditions of Yoga and Ayurveda speak of Sattva (सत्त्व) as a quality of clarity, balance, and inner harmony. In Ayurveda, Sattva is one of three Gunas, or innate qualities, that shape our being and the world around us. Alongside Rajas (energy and movement) and Tamas (inertia and darkness), Sattva represents a state of luminous equilibrium. A sattvic way of life invites us to cultivate presence through mindful nourishment, intentional action, and deep listening. This evening invites you to explore Sattva not as a rigid ideal, but as a living practice. One that honors its origins while adapting its wisdom to our modern lives. We approach this concept with respect, acknowledging its roots in Yogic and Ayurvedic philosophy, and remain mindful of its cultural context. We’ll take some time to settle into the space and set the tone for the afternoon with a short breathing and movement meditation based on the teachings of T. Krishnamacharya (no prior experience required). Afterwards, Phil Richarde will guide us through a 15-minute mindful listening experience featuring a mix of instruments and records, followed by an afternoon of pure sound, homemade chai, and laddu served by Kitchari Kitchen. Phil Richarde is a certified yoga teacher, musician, and record collector whose sets blend spiritual jazz, meditative soundscapes, and live improvisation. He hosts shows on Refuge Worldwide and THF Radio and explores the intersection of Nada Yoga and conscious listening. Kitchari Kitchen is a cozy Ayurveda bistro near Boxhagener Platz in Berlin. Founded by Domi, an Ayurvedic health consultant. She joined forces with Maddalena, a yoga teacher and Ayurvedic nutrition counsellor. Together they bring ancient wisdom into everyday life. We warmly invite you to an evening of mindful presence, shared connection, and nourishment, both sonic and sensory. Come and let the afternoon unfold.
