Thailand’s underground is coming to Hiriketiya. On September 19th, Haus of Dots hosts MELTMODE & Tissanai, with Freya opening the night. Every scene needs people willing to build the infrastructure, not just play the gigs. Tissanai is one of them, he’s the co-founder of Rec. ‘n Cue and NoMind Records, shaping Phuket’s underground while still finding the time to be one of it’s most in-demand acts. His sets are groovy and genre-bending, less concerned with staying in a lane and more concerned with staying on the floor. MELTMODE’s doing something a little different, fusing Thai instrumentation and regional sounds like Luk Thung and Mor Lam into house music that feels simultaneously rooted and completely global. He runs Pissawong Records and co-founded NoMind Records alongside his partner for tonight. His sets shift shape depending on the room he’s in, which is either a gift or a very good trick. Probably both. Together, they’re proof that Thailand’s underground has got range, and we’re excited to bring that to you. Joining them is Freya, who deals in driving basslines, haunting melodies, percussion with weight behind it. Progressive, psytrance, techno, delivered with a precision that only comes with time. Come early, stay late.
