Thailand’s underground is coming to Hiriketiya. On September 19th, Haus of Dots hosts MELTMODE & Tissanai, with Freya opening the night. Every scene needs people willing to build the infrastructure, not just play the gigs. Tissanai is one of them, he’s the co-founder of Rec. ‘n Cue and NoMind Records, shaping Phuket’s underground while still finding the time to be one of it’s most in-demand acts. His sets are groovy and genre-bending, less concerned with staying in a lane and more concerned with staying on the floor. MELTMODE’s doing something a little different, fusing Thai instrumentation and regional sounds like Luk Thung and Mor Lam into house music that feels simultaneously rooted and completely global. He runs Pissawong Records and co-founded NoMind Records alongside his partner for tonight. His sets shift shape depending on the room he’s in, which is either a gift or a very good trick. Probably both. Together, they’re proof that Thailand’s underground has got range, and we’re excited to bring that to you.
