For our final show of an incredible year we’re delighted to be teaming up with our good friends at First Light for a December day party at Peckham’s Carpet Shop. We’re bringing the one and only Kaidi Tatham to town for an afternoon of soul, boogie, rare groove and beats, joined by OJ Residents Gilla & Russ Ryan, plus FL crew Rohan Rakhit & Soph alongside Shortlist supremo Donut. We’re also hyped to bring back Allysha Joy for her second OJ dance after her debut at Grow back in 2025. As well as being our first show at Carpet Shop this also serves as our 3rd birthday party - we couldn’t think of a better crew to celebrate with. Kaidi Tatham Kaidi Tatham has been an innovative powerhouse in the world of British black music for decades. From his early days as one of the pioneers of the broken beat movement, to his recent prominence as a key-player for DJ Jazzy Jeff's PLAYlist project, he has inspired an array of artists and tastemakers across the globe, from Madlib to Gilles Peterson. With essential releases on labels including 2000Black, Sound Signature, Eglo Records and First Word, Kaidi has a talent like no other. His DJ sets take in everything from boogie to jazz to hip hop and soul. Allysha Joy Allysha Joy is a deeply prolific & passionate artist; a singer, songwriter, producer, musician & poet. From nurturing her talents in Melbourne / Naarm, she’s built a global career of genuine resonance & devotion; her musical conviction earning Joy a respected place at the centre of contemporary soul & jazz. Known more widely as a live performer, her DJ sets blend bruk, house, jazz and beyond, sprinkled with her own freestyle vocals. Trust us when we say this will be a real treat. First Light First Light is the radio show and event series run by Rohan Rakhit. Rohan is a London-based dj, actor, broadcaster, and one of the team behind the asian underground crew Daytimers. Known for his multi-genre approach to his DJ sets, Rohan draws on the eclecticism of the soulful and percussive sound that encapsulates his London. He’ll be by First Light compadre Soph and Donut. Soph is one of the brains behind South London venue, radio station and community organisation Sister Midnight, whilst Donut is the man behind South London dance and soundssytem shortlist. A regular at Carpet Shop, Donut will be bringing his selections to the OJ dancefloor as well as providing the sound with his famed shortlist rig. Overjoyed Founders and residents of Overjoyed, Gilla & Russ Ryan play across soul, rare groove, house, lovers rock, R&B and broken beat. From warehouse parties to festival stages and sessions alongside the GI Roadshow at Notting Hill Carnival, their sets are rooted in deep selections, proper sound systems and dancefloors that stay moving into the early hours.
