Cartulis—the London-based label, collective, and party that made a striking debut in Japan last year—returns to WOMB on 24 October. Renowned for the marathon parties hosted at their home venue, FOLD, the crew is bringing their signature style to Tokyo, complete with a confirmed after-hours session at Z Maruyama. Rooted deeply in the essence of club culture and prioritizing sound system quality above all else, they are guaranteed to drive the dancefloor into a frenzy once again. The main room on the second floor will showcase Cartulis’ resident DJs, united by an unwavering passion for vinyl. Headlining the space is Z@P, a Montevideo-born, Barcelona-based DJ and producer. As a resident at Phonotheque—one of South America’s premier clubs—he has been instrumental in bringing the Uruguayan scene to the global stage. His prowess is evident through releases on prestigious labels like My Own Jupiter, Cabaret Recordings, and Melliflow. Building on a foundation of house and techno, his edgy acid and avant-garde arrangements consistently create deeply immersive experiences. Joining him are Unai Trotti, the visionary founder behind the collective's explosive international popularity, and London-based Junki Inoue, who serves as the crucial link between Cartulis and the Japanese scene. Up on the 4F, the lineup highlights Cartulis' close ties with other renowned collectives. The space will feature performances by P-YAN and Ryokei, both representing the label and party collective Alien Sex Friends. They will be joined by DSKE, a resident of Motorpool, which is celebrated as a highly frenetic, gender-neutral party that embraces people of all races and sexualities. Finally, the 1F brings together a stellar lineup of domestic talent. CHIDA will showcase the unique artistic vision he has cultivated domestically and internationally through his own label, Ene. He plays alongside YAMA, a selector who seamlessly maintains the groove everywhere from outdoor festivals to deep, late-night club sessions, and Teppei, a resident at Shibuya's Mitsuki, known for weaving high-quality house, techno, and dub at esteemed outdoor events like Rural. Following the performance at WOMB, an after-hours party will be held at Z Maruyama.
