Ballet is an ambient/experimental performance showcase based in Brooklyn, NY. This curation includes the US debut presentation of buttechno’s *endless Xpire*, Klein’s singular melding of noise and R&B, saxophonist Matana Roberts’ improvisational genius, and Significant Other’s debut live set via forthcoming audiovisual work. buttechno's sonic identity is built on spacious, dystopian, and wonky reflections on techno that explore the liminal spaces between rhythm and texture. His productions feature rhythmic cells ranging from strict to rubbery, lending direction to blue, ruminating, and post-apocalyptic voids and creating soundscapes that mirror expansive barrenness and urban desolation. This approach has earned him recognition for providing "spastic electronics and fireball ballistics" at major festivals and legendary clubs. Klein is an artist and musician whose work often blurs the lines between fact and fiction. Her music releases, films, and performances are often informed by urban mapping, surveillance, humor, hip-hop, noise, identity, and beyond. Her work has been shown and/or performed at museums, galleries, yards, squats, and pubs. Matana Roberts \[they/them\] is a dynamic instrumentalist and multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores the mystical roots and intuitive, spirit-raising traditions of American creative expression. Their innovative work has forged new conceptual approaches to considering narrativity, history, and political expression within improvisatory structures. Significant Other, a UK-born DJ, producer, and curator now based in Berlin, has carved out a distinctive space in the electronic music landscape with his emotionally resonant productions and genre-resistant style of DJing. Consistently operating at the fringes, his creative output is an at-times chaotic fusion of the tough and more tender corners of modern dance music. Over the years, he has garnered a cult reputation for his take on the sludgier, atmospheric ends of contemporary mood-driven electronic music, including through his record label and Berlin event series Pain Management, an anti-dancefloor outlet for outsider sounds spanning spoken word, hellish dub experimentation, and avant-garde electronica: “body music for restless minds.” DURATIONS Festival is a week-long, multi-disciplinary exploration of sound and connection. Now in its fifth iteration, the festival’s programming is its most robust yet, with seven days of music, talks, audiovisual work taking place between Public Records, Pioneer Works, Roulette, and Whitney Museum of American Art. \- Public Records aims to provide a safer space.
