Saturday October 3rd, Canary Sound Werk is pleased to present our third Open Air with DjRUM, Mark Ernestus, Akanbi b2b The Large. Join us for our third open air with familiar and new faces and an overflowing amount of talent. For this special day into night event, things will kick off outside and transition inside as the bass keeps bumping... [OUTSIDE] DjRUM returns to us in a big way for a 4hr set outside. Known for his signature three turntables style, DjRUM bobs and weaves through genres, unapologetically cutting his own path with a jazz inflected mixing sensibility of spellbinding transitions and heady selections as he delves into everything from gabber to jungle, footwork, dubstep, electro, techno, dub, breaks, ambient, and much more. We are ready to have our minds blown as DjRUM continues to push the boundaries of himself and his dancefloor. [INSIDE] It is only fitting that Mark Ernestus, the other founder of Basic Channel, Rhythm & Sound and one of the masterminds behind Open Ground, joins us for with a legendary bag of earth shaking cuts for a 3hr set inside. Today, Mark focuses his sets on unraveling the complex sounds of Amapiano - a South African style of dance music infamous for sub shattering log drums, brooding basslines, sultry flows, and fantastically unpredictable variations that light up the dance floor. [OUTSIDE / INSIDE] Akanbi returns, this time bringing his partner in dubwise-percussive-explorations, The Large. Whether on the decks or on the mic, Akanbi is sure to keep you locked in and on your toes while maintaining impeccable energy with his otherworldly deep selections.
