Live at Anatolia Sunday, September 20 · 8pm Music for the House PSON · Nguyễn Nhật Minh · Quý Trong Do PSON (Particles in the Spectrum Of Noise) Dietmar Gubin Visiting Hanoi from Germany, Dietmar Gubin presents his PSON project, Particles in the Spectrum Of Noise. His practice moves between live electronics, musique concrète, minimal electronic music and sound sculpture. With a fascination for the unexpected and the unstable, PSON shifts attention away from music as an object and towards the listener’s experience of sound, space and vibration. Gubin has been working with experimental and electronic music for around four decades, performing in concert, dance and visual-art contexts. Each PSON performance is conceived as a unique encounter with the acoustic space and the people within it. NGUYỄN NHẬT MINH Hanoi-based composer and pianist Nguyễn Nhật Minh works between acoustic instruments, synthesizers and electronic sound. Classically trained at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, his work extends from piano-based composition into ambient, electronic and experimental territories. His recordings often emerge from encounters with place. Cu M’gar, for example, combines piano, synthesizers and sounds collected during a journey through Đắk Lắk. On September 26, Nhat Minh will release his new album with Thang Long Records. QUÝ TRONG DO Visual artist and musician Quý Trong Do works with experimental sound, modular synthesis and self-built electronic systems. His practice explores the relationship between electronic instruments, physical processes and improvisation. A participant in Vietnam’s emerging live-electronic and experimental music network, Quý has performed with modular systems in both solo and collaborative contexts. His work also extends into audio-visual performance, bringing sound and image into direct dialogue. The evening brings these three practices together around a shared interest in listening, improvisation, electronic systems and the physical experience of sound.
