The story of dubstep will be a solo venture by Silasthedon into the different styles n sub genres that have emerged along the way. Progressing through the stages of dubstep’s rise, from its infancy through to the present, the journey moves through its influences of dub n garage, early proto sounds, Big Apple bits, early grime instrumentals, El B n Zed Bias dark swing. Focusing on some of the major labels from DMZ, Deep Medi, Tempa, Hotflush, Tectonic, Hyperdub, Hessle Audio n more. Along the way, stories and knowledge of the records will be shared, with shop stock brought into the mix alongside a selection built around a genuine passion for the genre. For this session, the entire six hours will be played solo, making it an opportunity to trace the story of dubstep in real time, from its early roots through the many forms it has taken since.
