Join us on 24 September as Markus Sollid celebrates the release of his debut album, ‘Elastic Embrace’, with live performances at Mayhem. The album will be released digitally and on vinyl, and copies of the vinyl edition, featuring artwork by Frederik Godsk, will be available for purchase during the evening. There will be concerts by Margos, Margo Sanda and Markus Sollid. ‘Elastic Embrace’ unfolds an experimental electroacoustic sound world where hand played instruments and electronic textures converge. The album explores themes of transformation and coexistence, as light and darkness, weight and lightness, hope and melancholy merge in music that investigates what emerges in the spaces between. During the evening, Markus will perform a selection of pieces from the album alongside new works currently in progress. Markus Sollid is an electronic composer and musician whose work explores the intersection of acoustic and electronic sound. Over the past few years, he has expanded his electroacoustic palette by incorporating a broader range of acoustic instruments into his music, moving beyond his earlier focus on the saxophone.
