As Radio Slave β alongside a long list of other monikers β Matt Edwards has made some of the defining music of modern club culture. But his influence reaches far beyond his own productions and DJ sets. On 11.09 we have the pleasure of hosting him for an all night long marathon at Jolene! Since launching REKIDS in 2006, he has built one of house and technoβs most prolific and respected catalogues. While occasionally appearing on institutions like Running Back and R&S, he has kept the majority of his output close to home β creating a singular, instantly recognisable body of work that has become a constant reference point for DJs across the spectrum. The label has also played a crucial role in bringing new voices forward, including an early Nina Kraviz, while releasing music from some of the genreβs most important figures. Diving into the REKIDS back catalogue feels like opening an encyclopaedia of house and techno β one that is still being written. Robert Hood, Joe Claussell, Mr. G, Carl Craig, Kenny Larkin, Gerd Janson, Chris Liebing, Speedy J, Len Faki and Underground Resistanceβs Mike Banks are just a few of the names that can be found in the archive.
