A singular artist and virtuoso par excellence, Giorgi Kancheli began his journey in acoustic music. With a deep sense of rhythm and an intimate understanding of percussion's hypnotic power, Kancheli gradually turned his attention to electronic music. In the early 2000s, he began spinning classic techno in shadowy bars, forgotten basements, early club experiments, and DIY raves. In 2012, he co-founded the platform Stare at DJ. A defining chapter in Kancheli's creative evolution began with BASSIANI, where he has been a guiding presence since day one and a resident artist since 2016. In 2020, he released his debut EP, Earthshaketrance, on Bassiani Records: a fusion of techno, trance, and acid. Since 2021, he has co-run Shin Records alongside Newa. For Kancheli, DJing is not just technical mastery—it’s storytelling. Through years of vinyl sessions and hands-on mentorship, he has passed this ethos to the next wave of selectors. Over two decades, Kancheli has become a driving force and enduring influence within Tbilisi’s evolving techno culture, a visionary artist whose musical language – raw and uncompromising energy, steeped in the urgency of street narratives and textures of everyday resistance – gives Tbilisi club culture its unique sonic identity. His work reflects the urban realities marked by the wounds of the '90s and the radical transformations of the 2000s. Drawing inspiration from techno's legacy, Kancheli transmutes the city's underworld into a liberating force, casting a futurist gaze toward what lies ahead. On 30th October, as part of Curated by Resident, Kancheli goes back-to-back with Swedish DJ, Northern Electronics member, Jessie Granqvist, while the live performances are delivered by Dorisburg, a solo alias of Alexander Berg, also known as one half of the duo Genius of Time; TH±Tar Hallow Records founder Thanos Hana; alongside sound nerd and visual artist, researcher of kinetic and spatial sound experiments, Albert van Abbe; and resident of Tresor, Eric Cloutier, with a reputation as a "record-digging psychopath". Kdema, Kvanchi and Hamatsuki return to Horoom alongside Yerevan-based DJ and producer TaronX.
