On Saturday 24 October, Refuge Worldwide comes to Milan for the first time with Le Cannibale: a night at PAC Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea, bringing together electronic music and the photography exhibition RI-SCATTI. Prima che sia notte. Behind the decks, Fatima Koanda and LIL JA, artists connected to the Berlin-based radio station and cultural platform, bring its musical explorations to the museum. An evening to dance and explore the galleries after dark, where photography and electronic music open a dialogue between celebration, listening and reflection. The exhibition tells the stories of migrant and refugee women through their own eyes. These stories resonate with Refuge Worldwide’s work in radio, music and public programmes, creating spaces for expression and community. Music and photography thus share a common purpose: making space for people who have experienced migration or been forced to flee to tell their stories and be heard. For Le Cannibale, clubbing becomes a tangible cultural practice here: bringing new audiences into the museum and connecting people and different forms of expression. The party and the exhibition retain their distinct identities while contributing to an experience that invites us to dance, observe and reflect on the present.
