South African producer and DJ Kyle Watson heads to Refuge for a special daytime session this December. Known for releases on Dirtybird, Higher Ground, Ultra, Atlantic, and REALM, Watson has spent more than a decade building a name through bass heavy house records and club focused productions. Born in Johannesburg, he began releasing music in 2007 and earned nominations for Best Producer and Best Male DJ at the 2017 Dance Music Awards South Africa. In 2018, Watson released his debut album Into The Morning, a project that showed a broader side of his sound before he continued touring across North America, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, and South Africa. His festival appearances include Electric Forest, CRSSD, Shambhala, Ultra South Africa, and Dirtybird Campout. Watson is also a co founder of Box of Cats, the label launched in 2016 alongside Wongo and fellow producers, giving him another outlet for forward thinking house music.
