Since his debut in 2005, Black Coffee has steadily built his legacy as one of the most influential figures of his generation, blending native South African rhythms, deep house, jazz, and rich vocal storytelling into his sets and releases. His signature sound has earned him worldwide acclaim—from timeless anthems like "Superman" and high-profile work with Drake, Pharrell Williams, Alicia Keys, and Usher, to his landmark collaboration with &ME and a Grammy win in 2022. The global stage caught on almost by accident when he landed in Ibiza back in 2013 on a recommendation from Seth Troxler. Expecting an island dominated by commercial sounds, hearing minimal techno made him realize he was right at home, prompting him to simply stay true to his roots. That day, DC10 experienced "Afropolitan House" for the very first time, instantly hypnotizing the entire island. What followed was a meteoric rise: milestone sets at Coachella and Ultra in 2016, the first-ever BET Award presented to a South African artist, multiple DJ Awards, and his crown-jewel Saturday residency at Hï Ibiza, which he has anchored since 2017.
