ATHENS / GREECE) Kormoranos and the team behind the Athenian party series THE ROOM present a multilayered club event at ILION PLUS on Friday the 18th of September, with live performances by Discovery Zone, Paint and Mr. Silla and a dj afterparty with local talent Socrates Antypas, Andreas Palmer and Ayshel. ********************* DISCOVERY ZONE Discovery Zone is JJ Weihl, a multimedia musician/performer from New York, ex member of the band Fenster and regular collaborator of artists such as John Moods and World Brain, among others, She has released three solo records (her debut “Remote Control”, “Quantum Web” and the more recent one “Library Copy Do Not remove” on RVNG Intl), combining elements of experimental pop, electro and ambient with conceptual visuals. PAINT Paint is the solo project of New York based musician and artist Pedrum Siadatian of the Allah-las, an art-pop hybrid of noise, oblique fragments and flashes of warped inspiration formed into songs that seem to assemble themselves in real time. His new album, "Whip of an ear", will be released on October 16 through Grape Street Inc. MR. SILLA Core member of the band múm from 2007 and based in Athens/Greece for a while now, Mr. Silla (aka Sigurlaug Gísladóttir) remains a stable artistic force in the Icelandic music scene for decades, either touring the whole world with the group, playing small intimate solo shows around Europe or forming collaborative projects like the one they'll be introducing this Fall with Late of the Pier's Sam Potter. +++ AFTERPARTY Right after midnight, the live stage switches into a dj booth and three renowned, prolific Athenian djs, Socrates Antypas, Andreas Palmer and Ayshel - all certified THE ROOM regulars, will take over in turns, for three eclectic bass/breaks/techno/electro sets until 04:00.
