Oskar Jones is a London based, award-winning artist whose practice spans many facets of contemporary music, including jazz, ambient-electronic, and experimental, across numerous projects and collaborations. His work is a reflection of mental and physical environments that borrows the conveyance of atmosphere and mood through music from impressionistic philosophy, and combines this with the anarchic structures of jazz, and its framework for individual and group expression through improvisation. Oskar's compositions focus on the intentionality of expression, honesty, and authenticity through pellucid, lyrical melodies and fierce grooves that straddle through-composition and improvisation. Underpinned by strong emotive and visual associations, the band shapes dynamic forms and intense contrasts that seek to evoke, capture, and communicate the feeling of ephemerality. His playing draws deeply on Brazilian music, jazz, and experimental sound, shaped by years spent studying the work of Fabiano do Nascimento. Harada mixes this Brazilian-rooted guitar style together with ambient soundscapes, the traditional Slovak overtone flute Fujara, and the field recordings of the natural world to create a warm musical experience.
