We’re thrilled to welcome KIKIPÓ back to Siren to celebrate our one year anniversary! What a year it’s been. We’ve thrown 11 parties with some of the best energy from such wonderful, friendly attendees. Thank you for continuing to come to Siren – it’s been amazing making this space with you all! We can’t wait to do it again. Kikipó (@kikiisakittypo) will kick off the night, spinning booty-shaking beats influenced by her Afro-Caribbean roots and love for electronic music – you'll hear a blend of reggaeton, dembow, baile funk, house, techno and fun surprises in between. Siren resident DJ Dollhaus will keep us moving with sultry rhythm and p-word poppin' beats. Unbound by genre, this siren of sound frequently excites us through tech house with grime and hip-hop influences, unexpected twists on old school bangers, a dose of Madonna, some contemporary pop for the girlies, and more house to round it out. (Keep your ears on the lookout for her keen sense of humor, blessing us with a witty musical joke or two, too.) In short: you’re going to have fun. Siren founder and resident Kylie Terra will close the night with a set dedicated to her dad, in honor of Nov. 6th being the anniversary of his passing. Music was one of the most important things in his life, and he loved sharing tunes as well as his wealth of knowledge about artists. Kylie Terra’s genre-crossing mixes, rooted in house music peppered with throwbacks and pop remixes, combine high-energy and nostalgia, emotional intensity and joyful disco, darkness and light – a set for the body and soul to dance away to. Siren is a monthly dance party at the Jeanie Johnston Pub organized by Kylie Terra (@djkylieterra) and DJ DOLLHAUS (@knighttimethoughts). $5 at the door, 21+.
