**Performance begins – 8:00pm** Led by Cuban pianist, composer and arranger Elio Rojas, the Elio Rojas Trio presents a vibrant and sophisticated musical journey through jazz, Latin jazz, Afro-Cuban rhythms, salsa, flamenco and European classical influences. A First-Class Honours graduate of the University of the Arts in Havana, Elio is recognised for his refined classical technique, rhythmic energy, imaginative improvisation and charismatic stage presence. His distinctive musical voice brings together the richness of his Cuban heritage and the freedom of contemporary jazz. The trio performs a compelling repertoire of original compositions, Cuban classics and imaginative arrangements of jazz standards. Their music moves effortlessly from intimate and lyrical passages to exhilarating Afro-Cuban grooves, creating a performance that is elegant, energetic and deeply rooted in the spirit of jazz. For this special performance, the trio will be joined by guest vocalist Beny Luis, whose warmth, energy and authentic Caribbean sound bring an additional dimension to the ensemble.
