Since the release of his sophomore record *…And His Splash Band* in the fall of 2024, Liam Benzvi has resided between New York and Mexico City, lent his voice to various projects (Blood Orange’s Essex Honey, Turnstile’s Never Enough, Dan English’s Sky Record, and Macy Rodman’s SCALD), and mostly been hard at work on his third record, TBA. He released a demo version of an upcoming album song “The Wall” late last year, which Pitchfork ranked among the best releases of the week. He’s as of late assembled an inspiring new cohort of collaborators: Kaye Loggins of Time Wharp, Tony Vaz and Rob Klein in crafting his newest collection of music. It’s a frayed-at-the-edges, janglier rock sound that honors pop music doctrine but introduces a more challenging, rawer expression.
