This is an album that has shaped me on more levels than I can account for, and it still guides my ear. I consider Buena Vista Social Club mandatory listening for every being that moves. It is as much a swan song of Cuban masters playing from the heart as it is a singular piece of art, from the writing and the musicianship to the mastering and the physical presentation. We will hear the 200 gram first US pressing, as it was originally meant to sound. Each session explores original pressings of music from around the world, played front to back on a high-fidelity system, preceded by historical and musical context to set the stage for a deep, undisturbed listen. Sessions are often held in pitch black for pure sonic immersion.
