Born from Sydney’s underground scene, WELOVE arrives in Kyoto this autumn, bringing its distinctive energy to a city wrapped in seasonal stillness. At the heart of WELOVE is Nick Reverse, an Italian-born DJ and producer who has built his own party culture in Australia. Having shared the stage with the likes of Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier and Marco Carola, he has moved dance floors across an array of clubs and festivals. His sound weaves together the depth of house, the driving force of techno and the rising intensity of finely crafted mixes. That distinctive sensibility, shaped by the nights of Sydney, now flows into Kyoto’s underground. Joining him is the unmistakable groove of AKIRA ARASAWA. Releasing music through labels in Japan and around the world, including Chill Mountain, his tracks have been played by the likes of Acid Pauli and Prins Thomas. From Ibiza’s Radio Sonica to festivals in Croatia, Wonderfruit in Thailand and M.N. Roy in Mexico, his journeys across the globe have shaped a unique musical language. Organic rhythms, rich low-end melodies and layers of psychedelia unfold into a groove that is entirely his own. Holding the floor alongside them is masato.mt, the driving force behind TREKs, connecting parties and dance floors from Kyoto and Shiga to scenes across Japan.
