Stolen Nova: On April 7th, 1985 Prince concluded his Purple Rain tour at The Forum in Los Angeles. The following day he ventured down to Venice Beach. He stumbled upon a house party where Suicidal Tendencies were playing and went inside. He borrowed a skateboard from Jay Adams and did a wallride in his high heels. He took a pink spray paint can and graffitied his name in the bathroom. He even sat in on guitar for a few songs with Suicidal before the party was busted by the police…None of this is true, but Los Angeles native Josh Landau saw this in a dream and continues to use it as inspiration for all things Stolen Nova. Daisy World: Los Angeles-based singer Daisy Hamel-Buffa, better known as DAISY WORLD is a woman capable of doing it all. Daisy was recently featured on Tyler, the Creator’slatest album CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST collaborating with him on the track “RISE!” where her smooth vocals juxtapose the rappers trademark flow. Since then, Daisy has released her first debut singles, “SUNDOWN” and “SIX TWO,” where she really creates a name for herself as an independent artist. There’s a soulfulness that each song packs where you can really feel what she is living through at that moment of creation.
