Even Felix’s high school algebra teacher asked him to sign a copy of the single. The Tonka free parties were funded by a monthly party at the renowned Zap Club in Brighton, which then would carry onwards at the Brighton beach shores, well after sunrise. By ’91, the UK rave scene grew in enormity and the government put a strangle hold on clubs, while shutting down these renegade parties. Manny quickly developed his own legendary party brand Green Gorilla Lounge and progressed to sharing the decks with industry icons with bookings across the globe. This further developed Manny’s acumen for rhythm and cultural finesse, priming him for several collaborations with Phil ‘Rene’ Collis of Bachelor’s of Science and setting the stage for their alliance as the stealthy duo Sleight of Hands.
