Halloween in Lisbon. A secret location. A Void sound system. London-rooted underground bass and club music. ZUU presents SUB-CULTURE 002 — Halloween Edition. SUB-CULTURE brings London-rooted underground bass and club music to Lisbon. Independent parties, serious sound and a community built around the dancefloor. Founded by London-raised DJ and producer ZUU, SUB-CULTURE carries the spirit of UK rave, warehouse parties and club culture into a new city. Before moving to Portugal, ZUU threw free-entry warehouse parties in London, building a following through word of mouth: friends bringing friends, sharing music and coming back for the next one. SUB-CULTURE takes that same people-first approach to Lisbon, connecting the two cities without trying to make one a copy of the other. Musically, the roots run through UK garage, bassline, dubstep, jungle and the wider underground sounds that grew around them. The aim isn't to turn those influences into another rigid genre policy. It's to bring together selectors with something to say, give them a proper sound system and make room for a night that can take unexpected turns. Accessibility matters. A good dancefloor shouldn't be reserved for people with money to burn, so giving away as many free guestlist places as we can is part of the idea, not an afterthought. Where paid tickets are needed, the aim is to keep them affordable while supporting an independently run party. Raw doesn't have to mean unwelcoming: the music can go hard without the atmosphere becoming exclusive or intimidating. Secret locations, close-up rooms and a crowd built through word of mouth. Less polish, more personality. Come for the music, bring your people and help build something together. SUB-CULTURE 002 — THE HALLOWEEN LINEUP GUY FROM 1990 (PT) Guy from 1990 is Lisbon DJ and producer Miguel Varela, connecting the pulse of late-80s and early-90s house and acid with UK garage, bass and jungle. Active in Lisbon since 2007 and shaped by years in London, he is a co-founder and resident of underground collective ELA East Lisbon. His releases include music on Percebes, Whoopee, Ruínas and Powdertraxx, with his Bassivo Agressivo release exploring the UK-school connection through garage, funky and dubstep. ZUU (UK / SUB-CULTURE FOUNDER) London-raised DJ and producer ZUU is the founder and driving force behind SUB-CULTURE. His background in throwing free-entry warehouse parties informs an approach built around shared discoveries, word-of-mouth crowds and a dancefloor open to people from different walks of life. Now based in Portugal, he's bringing his own take on London's bass-led rave and club culture to Lisbon. LATEKID (UK) LATEKID is Darius McFarlane, a London sound artist, musician, writer and vocalist whose work crosses music, poetry and live performance. His wider practice includes collaborations with Caleb Femi and Avenhue, alongside work and performances at Tate Modern, Tate Britain and The Jazz Café. Flying in from the UK for SUB-CULTURE 002, he brings that cross-disciplinary curiosity and an alternative angle to the booth. SUB-CULTURE 002: Saturday 31 October 2026, 21:30–02:00.
