BEDA series is dedicated to the people who keep the city’s cultural and hospitality scene alive: musicians, restaurant workers, and tourism professionals who rarely get to experience the events they help make possible. This five-month series offers two shows each night with an early and a late performance, so those who work weekends can finally enjoy world-class live music. The project also builds a cultural bridge between Toronto and Montreal, inviting exceptional artists from across provinces to share the stage and strengthen connections within Canada’s music ecosystem COMING FROM MONTREAL: MARZOS & MATEO MARZOS & MATEO, winners of the 18th edition of the Syli d'Or World Music Competition and recipients of the Afropop Worldwide Award 2025, present a concert rooted in their Latin American origins and Afro-Caribbean heritage, combining original compositions with salsa classics. MARZOS, a modern salsa dura ensemble from Montreal, brings together the power of a large-format orchestra with a contemporary approach to Afro-Caribbean traditions. Known for its precision, musical direction and energetic performances, the ensemble develops an original sound rooted in the diverse musical heritage of the Latin American diaspora. MATEO, a Colombian singer-songwriter, performer and guitarist, brings his own contemporary perspective to Latin music, blending Afrobeat, alternative rock, electro and Afro-Colombian sounds.
