Vica Pacheco & Luís Pestana Brussels-based composer and musician Vica Pacheco draws inspiration from mythological crossbreeding, prehispanic technologies and interactions between the human and non-human. She combines heterogeneous or fortuitous elements like ceramics to produce her haunting sound performances and installations. For her latest A/V show, Pacheco is joined by the Portugese artist Luís Pestana. He composes mystic minimalist pieces infused with pointillist MIDI-collage - like Arvo Pärt meeting Lorenzo Senni. Pestana proposes a new contextualization of traditional folklore music and instruments and explores a deep human need for music that has nothing to do with fashion. Verraco & Lechuga Zafiro Hyperverbena brings together Uruguayan Lechuga Zafiro and Colombian Verraco, two producers and DJs who have always been close. They are two of the driving forces that, are pushing the new Latin club identity forward with greater force. In Hyperverbena they perform a constant dialogue between DJing and electronic live execution: extreme use of every feature of the mixer and players, deconstruction and re-arrangement of the musical material with external effects and frenetic playing of electronic percussion. They unleash a rapid-fire collage of Latin club rhythms and hardcore electronics that will have the room instantly moving. Mutant jungle and breakcore morph into dembow and reggaeton, into Brazilian batucada drums layered over club beats and swerving into cumbia-techno hybrids.
