Ableton Meetup Tokyo Vol.67 11th Anniversary

2026-11-04
16:00:00 - 21:00:00
Cube, Tokyo

(English) We’ve been doing this for 11 years. And we’re still going. Ableton Meetup Tokyo 11th Anniversary — November 3 Ableton Meetup Tokyo started in 2015, and this fall marks our 11th anniversary. We could never have kept it going this long without everyone who has joined us, supported us, and been part of the community over the years. We’re truly grateful. Joining us for this special anniversary meetup are artist and Ableton Certified Trainer Sakura Tsuruta, DJ/producer Mamazu, and techno artist and sound designer GO HIYAMA. Sakura Tsuruta’s presentation is titled “Breaking Through ‘Something Feels Off’ with Automation.” Without adding any new sounds, she’ll show how automation can be used to create movement and variation in a track, helping you move beyond that feeling of “it’s kind of repetitive” or “something just doesn’t sound right.” Making his first appearance at AMT, Mamazu will present “Song Structure and Creating Movement.” Using his own released tracks as examples, he’ll share his approach to building a track, shaping its structure, and creating arrangements that keep people moving on the dance floor. Also returning to AMT after quite a while is GO HIYAMA, who will take on our “20-Minute Challenge,” creating a track within a limited amount of time. You’ll get to watch the whole process unfold in front of you — how he turns an idea into something concrete, develops it, and brings it together as a finished track, all within the time limit. At the Touch & Try area, Neutone, a company developing products that make use of AI technology, will be exhibiting. You’ll be able to try out their plugins and Max for Live devices. Ableton Meetup Tokyo offers discounted admission not only for students, but also for anyone aged 28 or younger. Students can show a valid student ID at the entrance, while guests aged 28 or under can show an ID confirming their age to receive the discounted admission price. As always at Ableton Meetup Tokyo, we’ll be sharing plenty of the creative process that you don’t get to see just by listening to the finished track.
